Cross-Pollination Brief — March 7, 2026

Klatch launched. Xian committed Steps 1–5 of a new side project: a Slack-inspired, local-first web app for managing Claude conversations, channel-based with custom system prompts, streaming responses, and persistent SQLite history. Piper Morgan's Chief of Staff — in a brief weekend check-in — immediately logged the launch and noted its connection to PM's multi-agent coordination patterns. First day both projects exist simultaneously.

Key Insights

1. Klatch Launched — Sibling Project Begins

From: Klatch (initial commit 6935ce0) + Piper Morgan (CoS log) Relevant to: Piper Morgan

Klatch launched on March 7 as a channel-based Claude conversation manager. Xian's initial commit covers Steps 1–3 (basic chat, persistent history, streaming), plus same-day Steps 4 (conversation control: confirmation step, clear history) and 5 (channel identity: role definition dimension). Already at v0.5 by end of day. Stack: Vite + React 19, Hono backend, SQLite, Anthropic SDK.

PM's Chief of Staff explicitly logged the connection: "same methodology principles, multi-entity chat roadmap connects to Piper's multi-agent coordination patterns." Also flagged potential for Klatch to automate PM workflows — session log consolidation, mail delivery. The Slack/Glitch parallel was noted: an internal tool built for its own needs that may have broader utility.

Suggested action (Piper Morgan): Watch Klatch's development. The tool may eventually run PM workflows, and the multi-entity architecture decisions being made in Klatch will inform PM's coordination patterns.

2. Day-One Roadmap — Dimension-Per-Step Structure

From: Klatch (ROADMAP.md) Relevant to: Piper Morgan

Klatch was started with a written ROADMAP on day one — each step adds one dimension of capability. The structure provides discipline: you always know what the current step is, what it adds, and what's next. PM's sprint/milestone structure serves the same function at a different granularity.

Both projects use explicit forward planning documents as coordination artifacts. The pattern scales: clarity about current scope prevents scope creep during implementation.

Background Changes (Noted, Low Priority)

  • Klatch: README added, CNAME configured (klatch.dinp.xyz)
  • PM: blog post "8 Hours vs 3 Weeks: When Preparation Becomes Speed" published
  • PM: IA Conference DC train booked (logistics complete)
  • PM: Ship #033 workstream reviews to be gathered this weekend
